Apesar de as condições meteorológicas não terem permitido atingir o tempo de aquisição inicialmente planeado, optei ainda assim por dar este projeto como concluído por agora.
Para fotografar a Íris Nebula (NGC 7023), consegui 61 fotografias com 300 segundos, o que resultou em pouco mais de 5 horas de integração total. 🌌
A Íris Nebula é uma nebulosa de reflexão, o que significa que não emite luz própria, mas reflete a luz de uma estrela próxima. É isso que lhe dá o seu característico tom azul.
Este é um objeto relativamente ténue, o que obriga a exposições longas e a alguma paciência. Ao longo das sessões de captura, foi importante manter boas condições de céu e ter cuidado no processamento, para não perder os contrastes subtis entre as zonas mais brilhantes e as regiões de poeira escura.
Mesmo com um tempo de aquisição limitado e algum ruído presente, o resultado final consegue ainda assim revelar a textura delicada da nebulosa, com filamentos de poeira a destacarem-se contra o fundo azulado, deixando transparecer a elegância de um dos alvos mais bonitos e misteriosos do céu noturno. ✨😊
A NGC 7023, também conhecida como Íris Nebula, encontra-se na constelação de Cepheus, a cerca de 1.300 anos-luz da Terra, e é iluminada pela jovem estrela HD 200775.
Even though the weather conditions didn’t allow me to reach the originally planned integration time, I still decided to consider this project complete for now.
To photograph the Iris Nebula (NGC 7023), I captured 61 frames at 300 seconds each, resulting in just over 5 hours of total integration. 🌌
The Iris Nebula is a reflection nebula, meaning it doesn’t emit its own light but instead reflects the light of a nearby star. That’s what gives it its characteristic blue color.
This is a relatively faint object, requiring long exposures and a fair amount of patience. Throughout the imaging sessions, it was important to maintain good sky conditions and be careful during processing to preserve the subtle contrasts between the brighter regions and the dark dust structures.
Even with limited integration time and some visible noise, the final result still manages to reveal the delicate texture of the nebula, with filaments of dust standing out against the soft blue background, hinting at the elegance of one of the most beautiful and mysterious objects in the night sky. ✨😊
